What you can contribute
Share a travel experience, suggest a correction or point us to a useful source. Say which destination your information concerns and distinguish what happened to you from what you read or heard. Include a public source link when it helps us check a claim.
Keep personal details out
Contributors must be 18 or older. You do not need an account or a real name. Leave out passport numbers, booking references, contact details, exact travel dates and information that could identify another person. Do not upload someone else’s medical information. Choose Anonymous by leaving the display name blank.
Review and publication are separate
The first checkbox allows us to store and review the information you submit, including health information you choose to share. Publication is a separate, optional choice. Leaving it unchecked means your contribution stays private and is not published as a community account.
If you choose publication, you allow HIV Travel to edit and display your contribution on this website under your chosen display name or Anonymous. You keep ownership of your words. We may shorten, clarify or remove identifying details while preserving the meaning. We do not promise to publish every submission.
How we review
Authorised moderators check relevance, clarity, privacy and any source links before publication. We may ask a follow-up question if you gave an email address. We may decline content that identifies someone, promotes a service deceptively, is abusive or cannot be presented responsibly.
Personal experiences remain labelled as personal accounts. One person’s experience does not establish a country’s rules or guarantee the same outcome for another traveller. Changes to country guidance require a separate check of the supporting sources.
Your email stays private
An email address is optional. We use it only for a submission confirmation, when delivery is available, and questions about your contribution. It is never published or added to a marketing list. The on-screen receipt tells you whether an email could be sent.
You can change your mind
Keep the withdrawal code shown after submitting. Use it on the removal page to delete your stored contribution and remove any published version from this site. We cannot recover a lost code or delete copies made by other people.
Our Privacy notice explains what we store, who can access it and when it expires. The Terms of use explain the scope of the guide.
